Welcome To Punisher-Racing
Welcome, race fans to Punisher Racing! We are a group of racers that consist of four cars, ranging from twelve seconds to nine seconds. Our driver's experience levels range from the 1950's drag-racers to a racer that's been doing it for just over three years. Our team has a 1964 Shoebox Nova, a 1965 Rambler SBC, a 1969 Chevy Nova, and a 1969 Firebird.
The '64 Nova will debut on its maiden voyage at the Governor's Cup this year at the Sacramento Raceway Park. It is the newest addition to the punisher family, and will have plenty of testing to be done before the big day.
The second race car on the team is the '65 rambler, which is driven by John Cutright of Colfax, CA. He has been driving and building racecars since the mid-50's. The Rambler is his latest racecar and he has been debuting it for eight seasons so far - and has won his fair share of Wallys all across the state.
Third is myself, Steven Jones, of Colfax, CA, and I am the team captain. I drive the '69 Punisher Nova. It has a 441 CID, with an 871 Blower, 2 four-barrel hollys, and runs in the mid to high 9's. Though it doesn't have a Wally yet, it's day is coming - lots of number one qualifiers!
Then there is Dale Nettles of Chicago Park, who drives the 1969 Firebird. He is the newest racer on the team, and he is coming along nicely, learning what has to be done to become a good drag-racer. He has made it to the semis and the quarters on more than one occasion. No Wally yet, but I think he'll get his before I get mine.
You'll notice I didn't introduce the driver of the 1964 Punisher Deuce Nova. That's because this position is still up in the air as to who is going to drive it. I've been prospecting a great junior dragster driver to possibly fill the seat of the Nova. Things look prosperous, but nothing is set in stone at this time. More to come on that later, once I have an update. (PS: You'll notice I didn't make it gender specific, as I am looking for a female to fill this seat. There's nothing better than the look on a man's face when a girl has handed him his lunch at the finish-line because he was late on the tree.)
